Change the Game & ReTrain the Brain: The Art of UnEntertaining Negative Thoughts

This is a poetic short guide to the Art and Skill of ignoring negative thought patterns that seem to multiply inside the mind without our permission by the thousands, daily. Two literary resources whose material I’m quite fond of, specifically clarify this simple concept in a sweet little practical way. “Don’t Sweat The Small Stuff” by the late Richard Carlson PHD, has a whole chapter dedicated to it. And then, every basic book, audio, and video that Eckhart Tolle ever produced, has this concept outlined in quite considerable theoretic detail. Not to mention, Esther Hicks channels Abraham with this concept at the helm.
It’s wonderful and refreshing, those quiet momentous occasions when I have stumbled upon  pearls of wisdom that inspired me to revisit my personal practices. I was reminded recently of how very important of a learned and practiced skill it is, to UnEntertain negative thoughts. The concept is very relevant to the topic of the affirmative action of positive thinking. Within the realm of changing our thoughts to alter our life experience to ultimately rewrite our destiny, we could certainly use all the help we can get.
This concept personified,  is presumably, the very archer of our dear lives that is walking stoic with a few bent arrows, upon the battlefield of the Babylonian mania that exists inside of our minds. The battlefield upon which our dear little-ingrained granules of negative DNA molecules like little micro demons, so irreverently scatter about incessantly like a broken damn record in some weird haunted film. Almost like a mess of sharp tacks tossed across your walkway. Negative thought patterns seem to stick to our mental walls, like pornographic graffiti that takes a kingsize scrub brush and superior industrial cleaning agent to ever even attempt to get off. Erase, discard, eradicate, defer, debunk, derail, desensitize, deglamorize, dehypnotize, de-energize, undo, unglue.
Boo! Scare it out. Scream and shout. Do not feed complaints or doubt. Never let too much anger or vengeance or fear amount. Be the eager little soldier or scout. UnEntertain its darn downright dirty little secret pout. Let it out, by UnEntertaining its sneaky ruthless route. It’s such an attention seeker. A stalker, a tweeker. A ham for the limelight. A sore impetuous sight. A rambling ruse attempting to distract our muse. A fancy false filament of verbiage we must not use. It only wants us for the sole purpose of abuse. It is our job, to appropriately choose. To ignore their negative nasty smelly worn-out shoes.
Let’s pretend that they don’t even count. Let them pass to the flipside where they have no clout. They’ll disappear, and disintegrate into billions of particles to never again be found out. This, my friend, is the Art of UnEntertaining the poisonous nothings that roam aimlessly about. Nagging & nitpicking our mental hallways, they seem to be there somewhere… just always. Waiting to disrupt, tangle or meddle in business not their own. They hide and lie and waddle and moan. They will try to catch a lift, latch on like a leech or a tick. They’ll begin to suck the blood out of anything they pick. But if we choose to UnEntertain their drama, lure or tricks, we will certainly master the art of dodging bullets, stones, rocks, boulders and sticks. AKA: negative thoughts. Blah zee blah blah blah. Run along now, gruff grumbling antics, take your false hooded sinister semantics.
No more tea and krimpets for you, we no longer Entertain any sorry ass uninvited thought untrue. We only have caviar and an open bar prepared for our guests, the ones whose motives are only to bless. Keep it movin’, keep it steppin’, keep it real. I am wise enough to choose to UnEntertain your useless spiel. Negative thought? What negative thought? Nelly? Who the helly is Negative Nelly?
The Cuban cigar, the Ribeye steak, you will not get the privilege to partake. The feathered throw pillow or the 20-year scotch. Not on my couch, not on my watch. We don’t Entertain frauds, or fools who have no good intentions. We only pay our mind to right thoughts that give us healthy habits, and honorable interventions. Take a hike Meddlesome Mike. Scram, ya big fat ham, Hit the road Juvenile Jack. Store is closed. Lights turned off. Now flock to another flame, you rammy little moth. We learned to ReTrain the Brain, not even a wild horse can take our eagle eye off the game. We know how to judiciously UnEntertain!
Whew! That was a close call & almost a really low blow… Get off my property, ya mangy scavenger crow. Shoo ya big moose. For your service we have no use. Go away, and take your car salesman undermining tactics. Go back to your 1980s weird science lab of poisonous pretend prophylactics. We take vitamins and drink the clean refreshment of right positive mental flow. Take your negative words and whispers and please just go!!!!! We live in the New Age, where we have grown to fastidious heights. One thing that we’ve learned how to do, is to unfly dangerous kites.
Black magic, be gone! Storm your way out into the perilous winds of distress. There’s nothing for you to feed off of here, nothing to make a mess. Poised and protected, the gladiator within rocks a heroic hoist. Standing tall she knew exactly how to make her choice. Amidst the groveling viral voices within, batting her lashes with that rainmaker grin…. her heart embraces only the ribbons of wealth… weaving their way… to perfect mind-body health. Owning authority and accountability for her personal space and domain, negative thoughts, not even a minute longer do we foolishly Entertain!

What is a mantra? A word with wings…

Using a mantra to go beyond thought is called”Transcendental Meditation.”

The word “meditation” means: thinking.

The word “transcendental” means: to go beyond.

Put the two together…

“Transcendental Meditation” means: to go beyond thinking, or thoughts.

The best method to hover above, or sail the surface of the thought pool is to use something that will keep us afloat and essentially lift us up higher and higher like a balloon defying gravity. The gravity spoken of here is in terms of the weight of heavy laden sinking thoughts all churning  in an undertow of rip currents that tumble, toss, ebb and flow  all down deep below…in the grind of the mind.

Getting sucked into the churning thought pool is like being captured by a runaway train that never stops to pick anyone up. It just keeps going and going and going forever. That’s what thoughts do. They just go and go and go forever. That is the nature of a thought….is to essentially join other thoughts in the crusade to furnish ideas for the mind that introduce more thoughts that yet gravitate to even more ideas and inspirations, and contemplations. Some thoughts lead to musing, some lead to reflecting, remembering, reminiscing. Thoughts feed off each other in the great big churning melting pot of the mind. Some thoughts lead to other thoughts, some thoughts lead to feelings, or daydreaming, or fantasizing, or reverie. The thought flow  could be compared to time. We live in the 3D realm here on Earth, therefore we exist in the zone of time. We cannot stop time. We can’t even slow it down or speed it up technically. All we can do is remove ourselves from its perception and then we are free from its confines.  Just like energy can not be created or destroyed. Neither can time, and neither can the flow of thoughts.

So…what now? Well, now that we understand the nature of the thought-flow game….we can know how then to defy it. Go beyond it, essentially, so that we may have more control over our ability to be in a peaceful unafflicted state….by the thoughts that always attempt to meddle in our lives. We have a choice….we can either surrender to the stillness, or put our dive suits on. Snorkeling anyone?

Or maybe I will strap some wings on today instead….and…FLY!!

Run! Jump! Fly! Catch me if you can….

Ya big fat heavy waddlin’ words in my head, draggin’ through mud and mental marsh. I’d much rather choose to hop on the mantra plane, and sail through the sky of imagination and folly where thoughts disperse freely and the playground of the mind is in the sky of higher vibrational space…. not the quicksand of a traffic jammed land where I’m sinking fast swallowed by the future and past.

Up upon the wings of faith I am lifted to safety where in the arms of a peaceful serenity I am free to just be.

Any mantra will do. All it is is a word sound that will help us commune with the auric aerospace of the 5th dimension coexistent with us right here in this very moment. It is a conduit for transporting our consciousness to a higher vibrational level by allowing us to lift or float up past all the 3D “noise” essentially, via our complete surrender. Our surrendering simply entails learning how to use a mantra. Let’s define the word mantra…shall we?

#1) At the Chopra Center, where Primordial Sound Meditation is the favored meditation technique, students are given a personalized mantra, their Bija, which is the sound vibration the Universe was making at the time of their birth. This mantra is repeated silently over and over during the meditation practice to assist the student in transcending the activity of the mind. The mantra is silent and has no meaning so that the mind isn’t focused on any particular quality or outcome. It is simply a vehicle that helps you access heightened levels of awareness.

#2) Mantra is a mind projection created in either a spoken or mental manner. Mantras can be a word, phrase, syllable or sound. They can be recited, sung or repeated silently in the mind. Shakta Khalsa, in her book Kundalini Yoga, describes mantra as ” a technique for regulating the mind. There are many mantras each one having its own quality, rhythm, and effect…Every thought or feeling that we have is on a vibratory frequency. By using mantras we direct the mind into a higher vibratory frequency.” For thousands of years, mystics, meditators and yogis have used mantras for mental and spiritual transformation.

Whether you choose to use the old standby mantra “OM,”  you decide to adopt one from google or are given one by a spirit guide or your own intuition….whatever works, USE IT! Use it to transport you to the realm of sacred silence where you can then be most available to the Cosmic Consciousness, Universal Mind, Highest Truth…..Pure Potentiality.

Once you find a mantra that suits you….the trick to using a mantra effectively, is to not hold on to it too tight. Instead of stating it over and over again…try the method instead, of listening to it being stated. HEAR it….like in the form of an echo through the hallway of your mind, and you are just following its sound into infinity. Eventually, if you practice this skill, the sound will drop you off into the land of free consciousness. It may take some practice, but if one can master that method of listening to the sound, it will become easier to steadfastly blow past thoughts to higher dimensions. With this skill, we then develop the ability to focus our attention on the mantra with little or no distraction from intrusive thoughts. As a result, we will find Transcendental Meditation to be a very effective way to plug into the higher mind daily. In doing so, we benefit greatly then, from the endless abundance and pure creative potentiality of the Universe. Our lives become richer on the 3D plane, as we learn to tap Source. Sweet! Count me in! lol

Chapter eleven: The Contract of Commitment & Affirmation

Summary:
Here we have the last chapter. It is the shortest chapter of all. This chapter begins with the analogy of a “haunted house.”
It discusses how with any significant shift in consciousness, there will always be an interval of adjustment. It uses the “haunted house” metaphor to connote how “ghosts” of past patterns and habits may attempt to keep our proverbial “house haunted.” However, it bolsters confidence by assuring their temporal stature. The moving forward process will unquestionably prevail in due time, with perseverance and commitment. This leads us to the crux of this chapter: “The Contract of Commitment.”
The author designed a special page for the reader to read, sign and date. This is an official-like documentation drawn for the readers choice to commit to the moving forward process, if he so chooses. Having a signed and dated authenticated document pertaining to an ethereal inner commitment, allows for the theoretical element to be more verifiable and valid. The reader’s new commitment can be posted on a wall or refrigerator as a friendly reminder of his solemn pledge.
Lastly, we have the most treasured and valuable part of the entire book: “The Affirmation Pages.” These three and a half pages of fluent affirmation suggestions are built to assist the reader to promote their individual moving forward process. The word “affirmation” means: declaration of truth. This affirmation contains all positive proactive guide words to empower an individual to uncover their own personal self-realizations, goals, and dreams. The author has compiled areas of positive thought form, reinforcing words, and power phrases, in order to assist a person to get or stay on the “right” track. The track, of course, that leads to the impending infinite access to the magical Divine overflow of: Beautiful Feelings!

Chapter Nine: The Metamorphosis of Moving Forward…..Get wings!

I believe this chapter is masterfully composed, simply because it gives articulate clarity to concepts commonly abstract. It is a body of important information about the moving forward process, and the metamorphosis that takes place within it. This chapter judiciously breaks down the process of moving forward into a step by step precise recipe for success. It uses the ingenious analogy of a caterpillar turning into a butterfly. It deciphers how old thought patterns inherently crave to veritably transform into new winged ones that fly us forward into the ides of advancement. It explicitly details how to allow and then enforce the moving forward process. It demonstrates how to conclusively become unhitched from anything currently holding us back from working towards or achieving our fullest potentials. It teaches us how to actively work to remove obstructions daily with ease and reconciliation.
This chapter leaves us with some great new shiny tools ready for use!

Chapter Seven: Connection

Summary:
The first 3 pages of this chapter are written cruising trails of interrelated words, in the form of lists, series’, and skats. The objective is always to climactically produce beautiful feelings via vivid visual imagery, however, there is a dual purpose in this chapter. The other ambition here, is to effectively demonstrate how all things connect in some way. These strung word groups are in place to show how everything indubitably has a connection even in seemingly illogical ways.
By the 4th page, the chapter breaks out into a body of information on “connection.” These next few pages reiterate the importance of our interrelated connectedness, and how it clearly makes us genuinely responsible for our own individual existences. The chapter moves to define “karma” and “love” in more detail, and officially introduces for the first time: “the moving forward process.” It uses these concepts to outline methods to elude or escape a stagnant state of life.
It closes by making suggestions on how to transform bad karma into good karma in order to expedite the steady flow of beautiful feelings via deliberate creation.
